Above, Brown-eyed Girl struts her stuff for her bemused elders. Stormyridge Appaloosa babies are full of life and have distinctive personalities. They were imprinted early and have wonderful dispositions and excellent conformation. Raised high in the Rocky Mountains, they are fit and strong, with boundless energy. Calm and steady by nature, these Appaloosa youngsters are just beginning their early training, which will incorporate Parelli methods. Like our grown Appaloosas, on maturity they will be equally at home on the trail, around the ranch or farm, and under saddle in the show ring. Details specific to each are provided below. Bright Flight, foaled in August 2004. Shown here within hours of birth, this baby is truly precocious. He is living in a pasture with his Mom and four other horses of various ages. Beginning when he was 24 hours old Bright Flight has been walking through a three-strand smooth wire fence to check out the rest of the world. He is fearless and easy to teach. Early one morning I discovered him running with the larger herd, 19 horses of various ages. He had walked through two fences to join them and returned home with them so he could get back to Mom and nurse. His mother, Firefly, is very casual about these adventures. At three months, out in the big world, with Gai. |

Foaled in 2003, this filly has a double registered Dam, Appaloosa and Half-Arabian. She is a year older than this picture and has become much more friendly, wanting to be touched and worked with whenever we have time. At present she is still chocolate brown, with a beautiful soft eye. As she matures, I am sure she will start to color as all the other mares sired by Dyna's Tapers have done. |
